La bande de gueules reprend l’esprit du blason de la Lorraine. Les trois fontaines héraldiques font référence aux trois hameaux historiques Méraumont, Pénil, Génaville disposant chacun d’un puits fontaine. Le triangle vidé symbolise l’église de Génaville dédiée à la Très Sainte Trinité. L’épée représente l’église des Baroches dont le saint patron est Saint Jacques le Majeur. Le fond blanc évoque l’air pur des Baroches.
La tête de cerf, les épis de blés, le chardon sont les ornements du logo que les enfants avaient dessinés. C’est le témoin du caractère rural et tourné vers l’agriculture du village.
